The original Sesnon House, Piño Alto, was built in 1911. The Sesnon family used the house as a country estate. The leaded Craftsman Style glass was installed at the time the house was built.

The Salesian Sisters bought the property in 1943. Carl Huneke’s records indicate six windows were completed for the Salesian Sisters Mary Help of Christians Juniorate in Aptos in 1965. Only five transom windows were found in 1998.

The Sesnon House was annexed to Cabrillo College in a condemnation proceding in which the College District bought the property from the Salesian Sisters in 1978.

In the Loma Prieta Earthquake of October 17,1989, the building was damaged. The Sesnon House Foundation funded the restoration and returned the house to a condition more like the original residence as a part of those repairs.
